This site is about my photos, ideas, and designs. I was born in Upstate New York, but have lived in Racine, Wisconsin since 1990. I have a bachelor’s degree in Operations Management & Information Systems from Northern Illinois University, Class of 1993. I worked for Warren Industries, Jockey International, and Xerox.
Due to health issues, I had to quit work and learn to manage new ways to live my life. After sitting around for years after my diagnosis, depressed, bored, and with no interest in anything, I made a decision to change my circumstances. I have MS, Osteoporosis, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Major Depression. I am getting older but decided I need to make a change in my life.
I decided to go back to school again and after a couple different tries settled on the AAS program in Graphic Design. I love it. This last semester was the first semester I earned A’s in both classes, one of them was Design Concepts and the other was a writing class. I enjoy designing, photography, and writing.
I designed two blogs in the past, one a photography blog, and the other which began simply writing down my thoughts, emerged poetry, which was a total surprise. The poetry was personal, based on my feelings at that time, and was a huge success. Sadly, it disappeared somewhere in the blogosphere of the past and I have nothing saved from it.
I am using this blog to show my photos, and my designs, and to share my thoughts. I hope you enjoy my site and feel free to make comments or contact me.
Thanks,
Karen Van Benschoten
